Quantity Surveying is a fast growing field of study in Malaysia and is ranked amongst the highest in terms of employability within the Malaysian construction industry. This 3.5-year programme in Linton University College is accredited by the Board of Quantity Surveyors, Malaysia, and is recognised by both the public and private sectors of the industry, thus giving graduates a wide choice of specialised career options in this field.

Entry Requirement

1. STPM / A-Level / Equivalent: Pass STPM or its equivalent with minimum Grade C (GP 2.00) in Mathematics and 1 relevant Science subject; or 
2. UEC: Pass with a minimum Grade B in 5 subjects including Mathematics and 1 relevant Science; or
3. Matriculation/ Foundation / Equivalent: Pass Matriculation / Foundation with minimum CGPA of 2.00; or

4. Diploma in Engineering / Engineering Technology / Equivalent: Minimum CGPA of 2.00; or

5. Diploma in Vocational and Technical / Skills in the related field (level 4, KKM): Minimum CGPA of 2.00; or

6. Other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government. 

and

International students must pass:

  • IELTS with a minimum band of 5.0; OR
  • TOEFL with a minimum score of 410 (PBT) or 34 (IBT); or
  • CAE with a minimum of 160; or
  • CPE with a minimum of 180; or
  • PTE with a minimum of 36; or
  • MUET minimum band 3

As stated in the Circular from Ministry of Education No. 2/2013 with reference number JPT/GSC1000-606-Jld.1(25), all new students who enrol into any programme in any private institution after 01 September 2013 are required to complete and pass all the required General Studies Modules / Mata Pelajaran Umum (MPU)

Program Educational Objective

To produce graduates who are:

PEO 1

To produce competent graduates with the knowledge skills and aptitude of quantity surveying practices to meet job specifications further studies

PEO 2

To produce competent graduates with effective communication skills to convey information problems and solutions within social and ethical responsibilities in relation to quantity surveying practices

PEO 3

To produce quality graduates who possess interpersonal and entrepreneur skills for lifelong learning  and career development  in line with national education philosophy

Program Learning Outcome


At the end of this program, students will be able to:

PLO 1

Demonstrate knowledge of mathematics and quantity surveying specialisation to the solution of various quantity surveying problems.  

PLO 2

Demonstrate expertise practical skills in terms of construction cost, construction technology, economics of construction, legal, contractual obligations and project management. 

PLO 3

Analyse and evaluate to solve problems while performing pre and post-contract responsibilities. 

PLO 4

Communicate effectively on complex quantity surveying activities with peers, clients, superior and society in both verbal and written. 

PLO 5

Function individually or in teams, effectively, with a capability to be a leading construction industry player. 

PLO 6

Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics, responsibilities and norms in quantity surveying practices.
