This programme is devised to prepare students for the professional working environment as well as for further studies. Combining knowledge of the construction world and technical skills, this foundation programme forms a strong base for specialized tertiary degrees. The course combines both theory and practice aspects of the related fields within the construction industry. Students will gradually be exposed to the basic trades and the various engineering aspects of construction in order to establish a strong foundation both in their career and educational advancement.

Entry Requirement

  1. SPM / SPMV / O-Level / Equivalent: Pass with at least 5 credits and pass in Bahasa Melayu; or
  2. UEC: Pass with a minimum Grade B in 3 subjects; or
  3. Other equivalent qualification recognised by the Malaysian Government 
  4.     and

    International students must pass
    • IELTS minimum Band 4.0; or
    • TOEFL minimum score 397; or
    • MUET minimum Band 2

Program Educational Objective

To produce graduates who are:

PEO 1

Able to apply basic knowledge, skills in Built Environment while utilising current tools and techniques to solve problems and continue further studies.

PEO 2

Capable to utilise Built Environment tools and principles including ICTs.

PEO 3

Able to demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills and are aware of their ethical and social responsibilities for lifelong learning in line with national education philosophy.

Program Learning Outcome

At the end of this program, students will be able to:

PLO 1

Demonstrate knowledge and comprehension on fundamental principles of built environment

PLO 2

Apply the knowledge and comprehension through methods that indicate skills in built environment

PLO 3

Identify specific problems reaching substantiated conclusions using codified methods of analysis specific to their field of activity

PLO 4

Communicate effectively on built environment activities in both verbal and written

Apply team and interpersonal skills as an individual and as a member or leader when doing academic activities
