Linton University College Offers 9 Scholarships to Anak Negeri Sembilan


Following the celebration of the 14thConvocation Ceremony of Linton University College held on 13thMarch 2019, Linton has again decided to embark on its community empowerment project by offering nine (9) Full Scholarships to nine deserving ANAK NEGERI SEMBILAN (Children of Negeri Sembilan) in cooperation with State's Assemblyman (Nilai) YB Arul Kumar Jambunathan, which is also the district in which Linton campus is in. 

Linton University College’s Vice-Chancellor, Dr Kamis Awang presented these 9 Full Scholarships to YB Arul during the Career Talk held yesterday, in Linton Campus, Mantin, Negeri Sembilan. 

These scholarships will be awarded through the discretion of YB Arul’s team and the Scholarship Board of Linton University College to nine deserving students of Negeri Sembilan to pursue a degree or diploma in various choices of studies under the field of Engineering, Information Technology, and Built Environment, either in Linton University College or its affiliated institutes, Pertama Institute of Technology and Jati Institute.

At the event, YB Arul applauded Linton for its efforts in uplifting the communities around which its campus stands, saying that the state needs more opportunities such as this to be opened to the children of Negeri Sembilan, to encourage higher education to rural school leavers in order to be able to develop a professional workforce and subsequently drive modernisation to the rural areas. He was pleased with the support Linton is giving towards the Government’s initiative in promoting the technical and vocational education.


He then addressed the students in the auditorium who were present for the Career Talk to be proud of being University students and to never forget to lift those around them as their pursued their own dreams – a message that it significant to the event celebrated yesterday. 


Linton is determined in playing an important role in empowering communities through educational success and believes the scholarships awarded will benefit the growth of the community within Negeri Sembilan alongside its support with the Government’s effort to promote TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training). 

This milestone was witnessed by the heads of the University, academicians, students and staff. Upon YB’s officiating of the event, the audience then carried on with the Career Talk presented by Asst. Prof. Dr Paramesawaran, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Accounting, with the theme – INSPIRE TO PROSPER. 

Linton University College is located in Mantin, Negeri Sembilan and has had its name in the higher education scene in Malaysia since 1987. For 32 years it has been contributing to the development and growth of the nation and internationally with thirty-thousand graduates in seventy-five countries around the world.
